The watertightness of the swimming cap varies according to the model:

The mesh cap is not at all watertight and lets the water in.
The silicone mesh cap is made of watertight pieces, but the water passes through the seams, offering better protection against splashing water.
The material of the silicone cap offers the best watertightness.
PLEASE NOTE: NO SWIMMING CAPS ARE 100% WATERTIGHT. THE WATER FLOWS UNDER THE CAP, ESPECIALLY AROUND THE EARS.
