Why choose Merino wool?
The Merino wool component is the best material that a trekker can choose for their travels. It’s a material that naturally reduces odours from perspiration. This means that you can wear your t-shirt for several days and therefore take fewer clothes in your backpack!
Origin of the wool
We only use wool from merino sheep bred on farms in South Africa that do not practise mulesing.
We decided to build a partnership with a group of breeders (Konsortium Merino) to guarantee respect for animal welfare and the environment.
This means we have full traceability, which allows us to guarantee the origin of the wool.

A score for comparing products' environmental impact
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using various indicators. An ABCDE score is provided to help you easily identify the most products by comparing the same type of product (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks). Decathlon is a voluntary supporter of this labelling approach
